Wisconsin has the opportunity to be a national leader in the use of plant and animal based materials to produce fuels and products that successfully compete with fossil based petrochemicals in quality, cost and minimal adverse environmental impact. This opportunity offers major economic and environmental benefits for Wisconsin.
To achieve those benefits, Governor Doyle has appointed the Consortium on Biobased Industry to develop a roadmap that will help state leaders create policies and programs that let Wisconsin businesses, educational institutions and its skilled labor force seize that opportunity and the benefits that come with it.
This web site is intended to inform all those interested in the progress of the Consortium. All documents created for and by the Consortium will be posted here. In addition, links that provide more detailed information about the biobased economy will be posted.
